Q-Switch NdYag: Pigmentation & Skin Clarity

At Monteray Clinic, the Q-Switch NdYag Laser is used to target pigmentation concerns such as sunspots, freckles, melasma, and uneven skin tone. The laser delivers precise energy into the skin to break down excess pigment particles, which are then naturally cleared by the body over time. This treatment helps improve overall skin clarity and brightness while supporting a more even and refined complexion with minimal downtime.

Fractional CO2: Skin Resurfacing & Scar Revision

For concerns such as acne scars, enlarged pores, uneven texture, and signs of skin ageing, Fractional CO2 Laser works by creating controlled micro-injuries within the skin to stimulate collagen renewal and natural healing. As new collagen forms, the skin gradually becomes smoother, firmer, and more refined in texture. This treatment is ideal for patients looking for deeper skin rejuvenation and long-term improvement in overall skin quality.

TCA CROSS: Targeted Acne Scar Treatment

TCA CROSS is a specialised treatment used for deep ice-pick and boxcar acne scars. The procedure involves carefully applying a high concentration of TCA (Trichloroacetic Acid) directly into the scar to stimulate collagen production and skin regeneration from within. Over time, this helps improve the depth and appearance of scars, creating smoother and more even skin texture. TCA CROSS is often combined with other skin resurfacing treatments for more comprehensive acne scar improvement.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q.How long is the recovery after TCA CROSS treatment?

A.Recovery after TCA CROSS is generally mild and manageable. Small scabs will usually form over the treated areas within a few days and naturally fall off within approximately 5–7 days, though for some individuals, full recovery and redness may take up to 2 weeks depending on skin sensitivity and treatment intensity. As collagen regeneration continues beneath the skin, improvements in acne scars become more noticeable gradually over the following weeks and months. Proper aftercare and sun protection are important to support healing and achieve optimal results.

Q.Is Fractional CO2 Laser treatment painful?

A.While 'pain' is subjective, most of our patients find the procedure manageable. We apply a potent numbing cream for 45-60 minutes before the treatment. During the laser application, you may feel a warm, prickly sensation and some heat. We use air-cooling devices to keep the skin comfortable throughout the process.

Q.How long is the downtime for Laser Resurfacing?

A.Downtime depends on the intensity of the treatment. For mild Q-Switch sessions, there is almost no downtime. For Fractional CO2, you can expect 5 to 7 days of redness and a 'grid-like' texture on the skin as it heals. We will guide you through a specific skincare routine to accelerate this process.

Q.Can I get laser treatment on tanned skin?

A.We strongly advise against laser treatments on recently tanned or sun-exposed skin, as it increases the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. It is best to avoid direct sun exposure for at least 4 weeks before your scheduled session.
